What is the difference between a forklift and a stacker?

Modern warehouses mostly use forklifts and stackers to improve warehouse work efficiency and reduce manpower burden. But because of their many similarities in function and shape, many new warehouse workers confuse the two. In fact, there are many differences between forklifts and stackers.

1. The difference in appearance

Stacker trucks have relatively small wheels. The usual materials of the stacker are nylon and polyurethane wheels, and the power of the stacker comes from the battery. The turning radius of the stacker truck is small, which is suitable for some warehouses and shelves.

The forklift has large solid tires, so the forklift has a relatively strong climbing ability. In addition, the forklift has a powerful engine, and the forklift has a relatively large load. Generally, it is not difficult to operate in some more complex environments.

2. Different dynamics

At present, the commonly used stacker trucks are manual, semi-electric and full-electric, while forklifts are electric and internal combustion (usually diesel and gasoline). Among them, semi-electric stacker generally refers to a stacker that lifts goods by electricity and moves by human push and pull.

3. Different heights

Generally speaking, the stacker truck is very high, relative to the height of the forklift, so the stacker truck is directly used for vertical stacking, and the role of the forklift is also longitudinal, but mainly horizontal, only two In terms of the role of the operator, the largest stacker truck can even reach 7, 8 meters or even 10 meters, but the maximum height of the forklift is only 3 to 4 meters. Some can reach 5-6 meters, but they are already large.

4. Mast

The mast of the stacker cannot be moved, but the mast of the forklift can be moved. The biggest difference between the two is that the stacker cannot move horizontally, but the forklift mast can move directly.
