FLIFT has recently completed a customized 5-metric-ton lithium-ion forklift equipped with a three-way fork attachment, providing customers with a more flexible solution for pallet handling and warehouse operations.
Unlike a conventional forklift fork carriage, the three-way fork attachment provides side-shifting and 180-degree fork carriage rotation. This allows the operator to pick up and place pallets from different directions without repeatedly repositioning the entire forklift.

The forklift is equipped with a three-stage 6-meter mast. With the three-way fork attachment installed, the complete forklift can handle a 1.5-ton load at a lifting height of 6 meters.
This combination brings together the high nominal capacity of a 5-ton electric forklift, the clean and efficient operation of lithium-ion power, and the multidirectional pallet-handling capability of a three-way fork attachment.

Why Combine a 5 Ton Lithium Forklift with a Three-Way Fork Attachment?

In many warehouses, lifting capacity is only part of the material-handling challenge.Operators may also need to retrieve pallets from different directions, work around restricted maneuvering space, or reduce the number of forklift movements required when loading and unloading goods.

The attachment provides two major hydraulic functions:
Fork carriage side shift and 180° fork carriage rotation

Instead of relying solely on steering and repositioning the truck, the operator can hydraulically adjust the fork carriage to approach the pallet from different directions.
This can make pallet positioning more convenient in warehouses, production facilities, logistics centers, and other industrial material-handling environments.

1.5 Ton Load Capacity at 6-Meter Lifting Height

One of the most important specifications of this customized forklift is its 1,500 kg load capacity at a 6-meter lifting height when equipped with the three-way fork attachment.
This point is particularly important when selecting a forklift with a special attachment.

A forklift's nominal capacity does not automatically represent the amount of weight it can safely lift under every operating condition.
Mast height, attachment weight, attachment dimensions, load center, and the resulting center of gravity all affect the actual load capacity of the complete truck.

The three-way fork attachment itself weighs approximately 642 kg, excluding the forks. It also changes the load center compared with a standard fork carriage.
Therefore, FLIFT evaluates the complete forklift-and-attachment configuration rather than considering only the forklift's nominal 5-ton capacity.

Three-Way Fork Attachment Specifications

The customized three-way fork attachment is designed for 1,200 × 1,200 mm pallets and provides both lateral movement and fork carriage rotation.

The attachment is connected to the forklift's hydraulic system through two external hydraulic lines.

The combination of side shift and 180° rotation gives the operator greater flexibility when aligning the forks with pallets.

What Is a Three-Way Fork Attachment?
